Whether it is summer or winter sheer fabrics make an impact on the fashion scene. These gorgeous feminine fabrics are favourites of designers and even the events make no difference because sheers look great by the seaside, at a lunch party or for bridal trousseaus. So it is little wonder that at fashion weeks in India sheers are rated on the ramp as the best fashion bet.
The most popular sheers for casual and formal wear are chiffon, georgette, organza, net, lace and Chanderi fabrics. Some of the designers at the Wills India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 season worked creatively with sheer fabrics. Nachiket Barve’s fluid turquoise and lemon smock with abstract prints was pretty and ideal beach wear.
Rahul Mishra worked wonders with black adding on appliques and delicate detailing like pin tucks for a long gown. Another beauty from Rahul was a white Chanderi flared shirt waisted dress with ripples of applique borders that gave the midi a lovely semi-formal touch.
